Ever wondered how yarn is made? This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the magic of spinning yarn. Using prepared fiber, you’ll learn the essentials of handspinning, including how to recognize staple length, draft fiber consistently, and add twist with either a spindle or spinning wheel. By the end, you’ll take home your very first skein of handspun yarn.

This class is designed for absolute beginners: no prior experience is required. We’ll provide all the materials and equipment you need, so you can simply show up ready to learn. Along the way, you’ll build confidence with the basics of drafting, gain an understanding of how fiber structure affects your yarn, and pick up practical tips for continuing to spin on your own.

Cost: $80-all materials supplied- drop spindle or spinning wheel must be reserved before the class or you can bring your own. Please put in comments if you need to reserve a drop spindle or spinning wheel.
