Fleece Preparation Class

This class is for you if you’ve ever considered purchasing a fleece and seeing it through to the end product.  Even if you plan to send your fiber to a mill for processing, learning to judge fleeces and wash them will save money on processing and shipping.

This class teaches you to take a raw fleece and see it through to clean, spinnable fiber.

We’ll cover how to look at a dirty, raw fleece straight from the sheep and know whether it should be purchased or passed over.

You’ll learn to wash it properly to remove all the grease and dirt but keep the softness and shine.

We’ll cover proper drying methods, picking, and carding.

Debbie will teach this course at the farm in two four-hour days.  There will be plenty of time afterward for questions, so be sure to bring all your fiber processing questions! Bring a lunch with you.
